Extension of Tour 235 "Weißbachschluchtrunde" with wonderful views from the Breitaualm mountain pasture.

From Waidring village center, the route initially follows the same route as Tour 235 "Weissbachschluchtrunde"!

Village center – Achenweg trail – parking lot Oberweißbach junction – right on Schotterweg trail – Weissbachschlucht gorge. Here, instead of returning directly to Alpengasthof Oberweißbach mountain restaurant, follow the signs "Raineralm – Hochbreitaualm". Return firstly via the same route and then turn right looping over Rechensaukapelle chapel and Alpengasthof Oberweißbach. Cross the asphalt road into the valley and take the path along the Ache back to Waidring village center.

A must for every uphill geek!

From the valley station of the Pillersee/Buchensteinwand mountain railway, head north to the main road. Here the bike trail runs eastwards to the village of Flecken in St. Ulrich am Pillersee. Pass the fire station and follow the gravel road. Go along the winding roads towards Kammbergalm pasture and continue on the Buchensteinwand ridge. Follow this route to the highlight of the tour, the 30 m high, fully accessible Jakobskreuz summit. Return to the valley via the same route.

From the sunniest place in the Pillerseetal Valley to picturesque Grieseltalm hut to the historical village of Flecken, there is a great deal to see on this tour around the Buchenstein mountain with its panoramic views.

Travel right from the village center of St. Jakob in Haus, along the cycle track in the direction of St. Ulrich am Pillersee, past the valley station of the Buchensteinwand chairlift and continue to the village of Flecken. From there continue along the road to Wiesensees (Kneipp facility) and then up to Hochfilzen (972m). Between the farms of Glaagut and Hörlhof turn right. Follow the signs and continue on Buchensteinwandrundweg circuit trail above the railway track towards Fieberbrunn – Pfaffenschwendt. From here, use the railway underpasses twice, then continue towards Fieberbrunn. (In the village of Schönau Pertrach, it is possible to depart from Fieberbrunn village center).

Take the cycle route which leads from the farms in Schönau Pertrach in a westerly direction, then use the railway underpass again twice and from the Fieberbrunner district of Vornbichl travel up towards Hochegg. Then travel down to the village of Mühlau/St. Jakob in Haus. Here, cross the main road and return to the village center of St. Jakob in Haus.

The shortest connection between Fieberbrunn and Saalbach with the highlight at the highest point – Spielberghaus at 1,319 meters.

You start in the center of Fieberbrunn and travel along the Ache to Gasthof Eiserne Hand inn. At the fork, turn left after the inn. The tour leads through Rosseggalm to Burgeralm pastures and to Spielberghaus.

Circle round directly from Spielberghaus to Saalbach and via Panorama Alm and Wirtsalm pastures back to Spielberghaus – Burgeralm – Eiserne Hand.

Easy warm-up biking trip.

From Gasthof Strasserwirt inn in St. Ulrich am Pillersee, on the "Steinbergrund" cycle route in the direction Hochfilzen. After 1.7 km, turn left into Grieseltal Valley, pass by Halserbauer and continue ascending slightly, into the valley. At the fork in the road (4.9 km) turn left after the bridge and follow the signs to Schießling Alm (1,271 m).

At the foot of the Spielberg, border-crossing (Tyrol/Salzburg) circuit route!

You can basically travel in both directions, with the clockwise direction being slightly easier to manage, and it is an exceptionally beautiful and varied route (asphalt road, forest or alpine paths, grass tracks).

Starting in the center of Hochfilzen (Hotel Edelweiß, Raikagebäude builing), on the main road, travel in the direction of Leogang and after 1.5 km, turn right into the forest, before Griessen pass. Via Huberalm and the Griesser pastures, the path leads along a partially grassy stretch, where you need to take care, downhill to Aiblingalm hut. After a short ascent into Aibling Höhe, you will reach the districts around Berglehen (start of the asphalt trail) and Feistenau (900 m) and from there it is just a short distance on the main road back to the center of Hochfilzen.

For your info: On the short section between Grießner Almen and Ulna Alm, the MTB route is close to difficulty level BLACK.

After a gondola ride with the Steinplatte Waidring mountain gondola, travel from the mountain station downhill towards the valley and at "Köhrergatterl" turn right to Möseralm pasture.

From here, just keep following the Pinzgau mountain bike route "Heutal". From there travel in the direction of the valley to Unken. From Unken to Lofer follow the signposted "Tauernradweg" cycling trail and from Lofer to Waidring take the "Steinberggrund" cycle route.

After Pass Strub, take the old road past Gasthof Strub inn towards Waidring village center.

The tour starts at the Gasthof Eiserne Hand inn in Fieberbrunn and takes you right into Hörndlinger Graben. Follow the path along the moat, pass through the tunnel and then pass the small "Schreiende Brunnen" waterfalls. Follow the signs to Pulvermacheralm pasture. You can stop at the "Pulvermacherscherm" lodge if you so wish.

Continue with Tour 278 "Gerstboden" and "Hennerleiter" Saalbach:
Back on the mountain bike route, the "Hennerleiter" continues over several bends and curves. After the first steep curves, keep to the right in the direction of Gerstbodenalm pasture (no facilities en route). Continue on Forststraße street up to Wetterkreuz weather cross, then a short distance along Speicherteich basin and there on the right is a trail to Reiteralm pasture. From Reiteralm, continue either along the forest trail or over the easy "Blue Line" free-ride route through the valley to Hinterglemm. On arrival in Hinterglemm, follow the direction of Saalbach/Schattberg-X-Press. Follow the village road/pedestrian zone up to Spielberghaus and cross Burgeralm pasture back to the valley and to Gasthof Eiserne Hand.

Full tour 259 / 278 / Hennerleiter: 30.8 km / 1103 Hm / 4 h travel time / difficult

There is much to see around the Kalkstein! The village center of St. Jakob i.H. with its parish church and fountain, the pilgrimage church of St. Adolari in St. Ulrich a. P. or the Öfenschlucht ravine in the direction of Waidring.

The initially steep route, leads from Fieberbrunn/Gasthof Obermair inn via Obwall directly into the village center of St. Jakob in Haus. Change to the other side of the road here and follow the cycle path towards the Buchensteinwand chair lift valley station. Continue along the main road through the idyllic hamlets of Flecken and Schwendt, which belong to the municipality of St. Ulrich am Pillersee.

In the district of Straß (Gasthof Strasserwirt inn) you cross Pillerseetal provincial road, travel a short distance on the opposite side and then cross the road again before the center, to reach the town center of St. Ulrich a.P. to travel along the beautiful Pillersee lake. Along the right bank of the lake, you will travel on a wide path, which is sometimes heavily frequented by pedestrians, to St. Adolari, with its well-known pilgrimage church. It is also necessary to cross the road. On the left, a cycle path leads to the wildly romantic Öfenschlucht ravine, a natural monument distinguished by its unique rock formation. From there you will reach the village center of Waidring on Pillersee road and drive along Dorfstraße street up to the underpass at the B178 to reach the cycle path to Erpfendorf. Follow this road until you reach Enthgrieß, where you turn again to an underpass on the left hand side, to travel along the cycle path to Erpfendorf.

Pass the Berghof Hotel and then follow directions to Großachendamm. From the center of Kirchdorf continue on the left side of the river to Furth. Cross to the right side of the river and continue to the municipality of St. Johann in Tirol. From St. Johann in Tirol, you will pass through Oberhofen, along the airfield, to a number of farms at Winkl-Sonnseite and after ascending and descending a few times, you will reach Fieberbrunn again.

Alternatively: after the St. Johann i.T. airfield, instead of turning left towards Reitham, turn right across the railway track and then left again onto the new cycle path towards Fieberbrunn. This leads along the main road without any major ascent until you reach "Bruckhäusl". From here, travel a short while on the main road (about 700 m) and then turn right again along Fieberbrunner Ache back to the starting point.

From St. Ulrich town center, head westwards into Schartental Valley (turn right at the Birnbacher village café). Follow the road to a small parking lot and turn right in the direction of Lindtalalm/Winterstelleralm. Cross Schotterstraße street, go past Lindtalalm and continue uphill to Winterstelleralm pastures. A wonderful alpine snack awaits you! Return via the same route into the valley.

Alternative: At Winterstelleralm continue to ascent up the path. Gerstbergalm can be reached along the walkway (pushing section). If you wish, there is the option here to join Tour 263 "Kalksteinalmen" towards Kirchdorf i.T .. From there, travel via St. Johann i.T. back to Fieberbrunn and St. Ulrich a.P. (Cycle route 18 “Kalkstein route).

First travel upwards with the Steinplatte Waidring mountain gondola! After the gondola ride, travel from the mountain station in the direction of the valley. At "Köhrergatterl" turn right to Alpengasthof Möseralm mountain inn. After Möseralm turn right again towards Bärecklift and follow the signs for the “Rad und Bike Pinzgau- Mountainbike Route Loferer Alm” route. You will reach Loferer Alm pasture via "Fusstalstube".

From there it is downhill past Faistau in the direction of Lofer and then on cycle route "Steinbergrunde" via Strub back to the starting point in Waidring.

From the village center take Sonnwendstraße street to the campsite. At the left-hand curve before the campsite, continue straight ahead towards Strub. Approx. 300m after "Ascherbauer", turn on to Panoramaweg panoramic trail (Schmid-Zabirow-Hütte mountain hut). Travel on this up to the peak of the tour, the Kitzgrabenhütte hut.

Continue straight ahead in the direction of Steinberggraben – Teufelsklamm, to the parking lot near the inn and "St. Adolari" pilgrimage church. From there, continue on the "Kalksteinrunde/Steinbergrund" cycle track back to Waidring.

From Fieberbrunn village center, travel along the Ache to the swimming pool. Change on to the main road here and turn first right across the bridge (Höcker in Straße) and then turn left into Gebraweg trail/Pletzergraben. Keep ascending Schottwerg until, after approximately 5 km (45 min. travel time/average difficulty) you reach the "Herrgottbrücke" junction.

Here ends Tour 253. Level of difficulty: medium.

At the fork in the road, turn right and continue along Schotterstraße street to the Lachtalhöhe panoramic viewpoint (1,673 m). From here you go down to Lämmerbichlam pasture (1,553 m).

End of Tour 251 / total 2 hours travel time / difficult.

You should definitely try the homemade cheese from the alpine dairies, butter, bread and the many other delicacies, before returning to Fieberbrunn.

From Fieberbrunn town center travel along the cycle path along the Ache to Vital company. Continue along the main road for a short distance until the cycle path starts again after a sharp curve on the right. Follow this until the turn-off for Wolkenmoos/Kitzbüheler Horn.
The access road is on an asphalt road to begin with and then continues on a gravel road. It then continues through the forest up to an altitude of about 1,000 m, then along a ridge with wonderful panorama views. Then travel down to lower Raintalalm pasture via lots of bends and curves, and a gravel road leads up to Raintal Valley towards Hornköpflhütte hut.

From here a single trail leads over a meadow down to a gravel road towards Trattalm pasture. Continue until you reach the asphalted toll road "Kitzbüheler Horn".

Follow the toll road down to Hornbahn. Turn right here onto Leukentalradweg cycle path "No. 20" and continue via Kitzbühel and Oberndorf to St. Johann i.T. Then continue through the village, go past the church, and on to the main road and turn left over the bridge. Then turn right onto Achendamm and drive back to Fieberbrunn.

Fieberbrunn’s home circuit! The perfect tour to get to know your immediate surroundings.

From Fieberbrunn, cycle along the Ache river towards Gasthof Eiserne Hand inn/Lärchfilzhochalm pasture. Halfway along on the right, turn left towards Lärchfilzhochalm (large blue sign) and follow the road. At Lärchfilzhochalm take the right path, descending slightly towards Streuböden. Drive past Berggasthof Wildalpgatterl mountain restaurant and after about 300 m turn left over the meadow. The first curves down towards Zillstattalm pasture are almost at the difficulty level black! Continue down the gravel road to the asphalt road and turn right towards Lauchsee lake. Pass by the lake and cycle back to the village center of Fieberbrunn.

This route can be travelled in both directions.

Refreshment options: Lärchfilzhochalm, Bergasthof Wildalpgatterl, Streuböden Alm

Start in the center of Fieberbrunn and travel along the Ache river to Gasthof Eiserne Hand inn. At the fork, turn left after the inn. The tour leads through Rosseggalm to Burgeralm pastures and to Spielberghaus.

From here travel down to Saalbach, pass the Schattberg-X-Press and turn left onto the main road until the end of the valley. At Bergerkreuz cross the main road and ascend towards Thurneralm/Panorama Alm pastures. At the intersection before Thurneralm turn left to Panorama Alm. From here, continue on a gravel road via Wirtsalm to Spielberghaus. The route leads back via Burgeralm to Fieberbrunn.

Follow the route from Hochfilzen, the highest point of the tour, along "Buchensteinwandrunde No. 17" over Wiesensee to St. Ulrich am Pillersee. Then continue along the cycle path to the right from Pillersee to the St. Adolari pilgrimage church (other side of the road). Cross the main road here and head down to Waidring. In the center turn right towards Lofer and follow the old main road towards Strub. Continue along the cycle path via the Strub pass to Lofer, St. Martin bei Lofer and Weißbach. Go through Salzburg Saalachtal Valley slightly ascending to Lenzing. Behind Schörhof farm travel under the main road and on to Leogang. Go past the small cottages in the hamlet and ascend back up to the starting point at Hochfilzen.

The “Skulpturenradweg” (Sculpture cycle path) is along the way: Young children and teenagers joined together with international artists to redesign their local cultural landscape in the form of about 25 sculptures. These can be found in Hochfilzen, St. Ulrich a.P., Waidring, Lofer, St. Martin, Saalfelden and Leogang directly on the route!

The tour starts at the Streuböden mountain railway valley station in Fieberbrunn. Follow the left hand side past the "S4 Alm" and cross Krottenweg trail until you reach the crossroads. Turn right towards Streuböden middle station and follow Forststraße street up to the destination.

Refreshment options: Valley – S4 Alm/ Streuböden middle station – Alpengasthof Streuböden inn.

Connection options to Lärchfilzhochalm route 256:

Option 1: from the middle station on the left at the edge of the meadow, take the gravel road up to Berggasthof Wildalpgatterl mountain restaurant. Halfway across the meadow, cross down the Zillstatt trail to Lauchsee and the valley station of Streuböden.

Option 2: take the gravel road up to Berggasthof Wildalpgatterl and then continue left to Lärchfilzhochalm pasture. From there, travel down into the valley and through the "Dandlerau" industrial estate back to the valley station at Streuböden.

From Waidring town center, go along the cycle path towards Strub pass, then on to Lofer and St. Martin bei Lofer. From the town center, the path ascends to the well-known pilgrimage church of Maria Kirchental, which dates from 1694 and houses the most important votive picture collection in Austria.

Return via the same route or continue through "Steinbergrunde" in the direction of Saalfelden – Leogang – Hochfilzen – St. Ulrich am Pillersee – Waidring.

Traveling from Waidring, you will reach the cycle path to the Strub pass, Lofer and eventually St. Martin. At the parish church in St. Martin turn left (800m) to the end of the village. Cross the main road and continue uphill in the direction of Wildental/Hirschbichl.

Continue on the right until you reach the "Goldener Zweig" (stamping station / then highest point) and then descend to Lohfeyer mountain hut. From here, head towards Weißbach and along Steinbergrunde route back to the starting point at Waidring.

From Waidring village center continue on the country road in the direction of Ulrich a.P. At the sharp right turn, travel left onto the cycle path and follow this until the parking lot at Oberweissbach. Cross the country road here, and after the parking lot turn right onto the gravel road.

Follow the cycle path through Weißenbach gorge and at the next intersection at Kohlstatt – Leitstallen rest area, turn left towards Oberweißbach. Travel past Gasthof Oberweißbach inn and continue biking down into the valley. Once you have passed the parking lot, cross the country road again and continue by the old sports ground along the Ache river back to Waidring.
