Long Distance Hiking Trail KAT Walk in the Kitzbühel Alps.

Experience a sense of freedom on the Kat-Walk in the Kitzbühel Alps

Become one with nature, on your Tyrolean hiking vacation, with the mountains as your guides and companions and absorbing incomparable panoramic views – over a total of 6 daily stages, you will climb the high peaks of the Kitzbühel Alps Trail (KAT), crossing meadows and forests. 108 kilometers and 6,700 meters altitude difference – definitely a challenge worth taking!

During the first stage from Hopfgarten in Kelchsau (about 17.5 km), you will discover several farms, typical for the region, with an impressive history, reflecting the cultural heritage of the region.

During the second stage (about 15 km), you will hike from Kelchsau to Windautal Valley, accompanied by impressive panoramic views and untouched natural surrounding.

The third stage from Windautal Valley through Spertental Valley to Aschau (about 19 km) is surprising with natural spectacles such as the impressive alpine rose meadows.

The next day, the KAT-Walk takes you to the Kitzbühel Alps from Spertental Valley to Kitzbühel (approx. 16 km) to the legendary Streif ski race track.

The penultimate and at the same time most demanding stage leads through Kitzbüheler Horn to St. Johann in Tyrol.

On the last day you will finally reach alpine meadows and pine trees travelling from St. Johann in Tyrol to Fieberbrunn.
